Happy Days!

Today we had an appointment with Clay's oncologist and since he is on medications to treat the side effects caused by the treatment, we are taking a break for a couple months from immunotherapy to let him heal completely and get off of the steroids that he's on. We are happy with this news as we want to make sure his body is in the best place to handle the treatment.

Clay got out of the hospital last Tuesday (8/29). This past week has been the sweetest week we've had as a family in a while. Clay has felt great, and we have had so much joy simply being together after four days in the hospital. We again can't thank you enough for all of your prayers and rejoicing with us at the shrinkage of his tumor. We did the math, and it shrunk about 30% in 40 days!  Praise God!

Next week we are planning to go to Perdido Key for a few nights as a family. This will be the first time since January we have gotten to get out of the city together, and we are so looking forward to it. We are humbled by the generosity of a friend of a friend who has given us the gift of letting us use their condo on the beach. The body of Christ really is beautiful. We've never met this couple, yet are so blessed by them! Clay's sister will also be flying in from New Jersey to make the trip with us. We are so excited for some time away from our normal routine!

Eli is on week 4 of homeschool, and it has also been such a blessing to me! He is such a hard worker, and I love seeing how he thrives under my direct attention and new ideas each day. The girls are also involved in much of it, and they are also doing so great! As long as Judson sleeps when he's supposed to (which is definitely not dependable), things go as well as they can with four kiddos, 5 and under. I can feel how we needed this time of intentional structure in our home after the summer was full of so much inconsistency.

Prayer requests:
-Complete healing
-that the tumor would not grow while he is off treatment and would continue to shrink at a fast rate
-Smooth and joy-filled trip to the beach

Ready, Break!

You're Not as Tough as You Think You Are

And neither am I. Since we got to Russellville, it is oddly common for someone to approach me after a worship service to tell me that my pre...
